Call to order

A meeting of the Bay Area Amateur Radio Club was held on July1 3th, 2023, at the Salvation Army building, Bay City, MI. Board members in attendance: president Steve Covieo (ke8nko), Dusty Trisch (k1dlt), and secretary Bill Baylis (ke8nkn). The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm.

Reports

Treasurer’s report: Current bank balance reported.

Secretary’s report: secretary was on vacation, no notes from June’s meeting.

Old Business

There was no old business.

New Business

President : 

Spoke about getting ready for 2024 Field day, and full club participation. Need a plan covering setup, station operation, food, and tear down.

There have been issues with the 360 repeater, possible water in line or antenna issue. Joe & Ben will continue to monitor. 

Possibly hooking up a commercial PA might take the load off the Fusion. Cost would be approximately $100. Vote was taken to approve the purchase. President made a motion, George seconded, motion passed.

Ben is working on a better cabinet to house 360 equipment.

Steve KE8TSJ has volunteered to be Net Control Manager. Looking for volunteers to run Nets.

President asked if any members would be interested in starting up a digital Net on a DMR machine, for once a month. Five members voiced interest.

Presentations

Club member Gary showed the club how to make Homemade wire clamps. These clamps makes it easier when soldering wire projects.
